Housing Coordinator - Extra Care

This is a permanent, full-time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

Part time - 18.5 hours 

Our ambitious Extra Care new build programme will deliver 4 state of the art facilities by April 2024.  The supporting local authorities will commission experienced registered care providers to deliver care and support 24/7 to enable people aged 55+ to remain independent and living well.  Each scheme will have a dedicated Torus housing team who will work collaboratively with the care provider to ensure all residents are able to access opportunities to actively engaged in social activities and events on their schemes and in their local communities.  The schemes include commercially operated bistros and salons which will offer an exciting opportunity for local business to deliver services to residents and people in the surrounding areas.

This is an unrivalled opportunity for the Extra Care staff teams to help shape a successful independent living experience for our residents in ultra-modern environments.

 

This is an important role in which you will:

  • Play a vital role in assisting and empowering residents, in both the main scheme and the supported units, to maintain independent living and which enables people to manage their homes and tenancies safely.
  • Work collaboratively with Torus Foundation to develop a range of health & wellbeing activities within the scheme and the community to promote active lifestyles and community participation.
  • Provide and create opportunities for people to develop and sustain broader social networks in the community.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Evidence of working in the housing and or social care sector
  • Experience of supporting people under the age of 55 with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, and mental health needs to live independently
  • Experience of working with older people within a housing or social care environment
  • Understanding of the social, physical and mental health needs of an ageing population and the ability to promote their general wellbeing and quality of life
  • Track record of completing assessments and developing support plans with targets and outcomes for clients.
  • Be willing to achieve CIH Housing and Property Manager Level 3 qualification
